If you're an opiate addict, I like you already.

If opioids have taken ahold of your life, you're not alone. It also makes me like you right off the bat. Why? opioid addicts are some of the kindest, most sincere and hard working individuals I've ever met. If you're juggling a high stakes career, a family, and an opioid addiction- chances are you're a pretty unique individual. You've held things together for years, probably. Your coworkers might be none the wiser.
But let's be honest: you can't keep this up forever.
Something is going to slip- maybe you crash your car. Maybe you
fall, and then have to come up with a way to explain your black eye
to your family and coworkers. Or you start showing up late, missing deadlines, or just appear "off" to your colleagues. Sooner or later, the cracks will begin
to show.
You have a choice to make- either get this under control now, or someone will do it for you.
That could be a spouse deciding they've had enough. A
coworker who reports your suspicious behavior to a supervisor (or worse, a state licensing board). You could be facing forced resignation, or getting your license revoked.
You don't have to let it get that far: you can choose a path that lets you continue working, taking care of your family, and living your life... without inflexible rehab commitments or inpatient detox programs.
